The M&P series is Smith & Wesson's flagship duty pistol and has seen extensive use with many law enforcement agencies across America. The polymer frame allows the pistol to be lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant while the more flexible material helps to absorb recoil during firing. The pistol also features a striker action that allows for a consistent trigger pull on each shot along with an accessory rail for installing lights and laser aim devices. The Optics Ready model features a removable plate on the slide that can accept Smith & Wesson's C.O.R.E. adapter mounting plates for red dot sights.

This model features an all black finish, suppressor-height sights, and Smith & Wesson's new flat trigger. Two 17-round magazines are included.
